GAVIN CROMWELL: Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell is enjoying some great form at the minute and previews his runners at Listowel and Ffos Las this weekend.

We’ve had another great week with four winners and it’s fantastic to see so many of our horses running well. We’re very lucky to be going through a bit of a purple patch and with any luck it can continue over the weekend.

Listowel Saturday

We run two in the opening maiden hurdle (1.45pm) with both Ciao and Alfa Mix taking their chance. Ciao makes her second start over hurdles for the yard, having run not too badly at Wexford last week. She’s been very consistent for us on the Flat and we’re hoping she’ll be able to translate that over obstacles, especially with a bit of experience now under her belt. That experience should mean we see an improved performance here and she has a place chance.

Alfa Mix is having his first start over hurdles. He’s been a little bit disappointing in his two runs in bumpers and this will be a bit of a fact-finding mission. We should know more about him after Saturday and we’ll be able to plot a path after that.

We also run two in the handicap hurdle (3.25pm) who are both back after a break. Brex Drago was a faller the last day at Fairyhouse, but he’s got plenty of ability as shown by us running him in last year’s County Hurdle at Cheltenham. He’s run well in this sort of race before and hopefully he can again here.

Archer’s Up hasn’t quite built on his win at Limerick in May. He’s got a nice low weight of 10-8 and Conor McNamara’s claim makes his life easier too. Both our horses should come on plenty for the run, but we’re hopeful they will go well.

Bentham is our final runner of the day in the bumper (5.40pm). He got the job done in pretty good style at Killarney the last day and we’re hoping for more of the same here. He got a bit bogged down by the soft ground at Galway and showed his liking to better conditions last time, so hopefully the rain stays away. He’s in good form at home and we’d like to think he’ll be there or thereabouts again.

He’d be our best chance of a winner over the weekend.

Ffos Las Sunday

We run two nice horses at Ffos Las on Sunday, with Sarah Jessica running in the fillies’ handicap (4.20pm) and Early Strike in the 1m4f handicap (5.35pm). They both make their debuts for the yard having come from Johnny Murtagh and Dermot Murphy respectively. Both go well enough at home, but it’s hard to know how well-handicapped they are and we’ll get a good idea of where we stand after Sunday.
