GAVIN CROMWELL BLOG: BETDAQ Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell is in great form at the minute as he looks ahead to this weekend’s runners.

It’s been a brilliant few days for the yard with four winners and long may it continue! It was great to achieve a double at Bellewstown on Thursday, it’s just down the road from us so it was fantastic to have a bit of success at our local track, while we also had a double at Musselburgh.

We’ve hit a bit of purple patch at the moment with all of our horses running really well, so fingers crossed it can continue over the weekend and into next week.

BELLEWSTOWN (Saturday)

We run both Ejayteekay and Ming Dynasty in the 2m handicap hurdle (6.20pm).

We gave Ejayteekay 10 days off after her Ballinrobe win to freshen her up a bit, but since then she’s been in really good form at home and we’re hoping she can go close again.

Even though she’s up eight pounds for that win, we think she’s still improving and we’d like to think she has the ability to get herself involved in what looks a competitive race.

Ming Dynasty got a fantastic ride the last day from Jonathan Moore. He’s a bit awkward at times and you have to sit and suffer and just hope the gaps open up for him and Jonathan did that superbly at Kilbeggan.

It will be much tougher to do that around Bellewstown, but he’s in good form at home and with any luck the gaps will open at the correct time.

Between the two of them, we’d be hopeful we can be there or thereabouts.

Later on the card, we have Mac N CheeseToosey and Aasleagh Dawn all scheduled to take their chance in the 3m handicap hurdle (7.20pm).

Mac N Cheese won over fences for us at Punchestown in May, but hasn’t quite followed that up in his last two runs, though they were in very competitive races – the Mayo National and Connacht National. He’s back over hurdles off a four pound lower mark and J B Kane takes off a further five as well, so he’s got plenty in his favour.

This race has been the aim for a little while with Aasleagh Dawn. We’ve freshened her up a little bit since her good second the last day at Limerick and we’re hoping a repeat of that run would see her involved.

After his win at Wexford over fences, we always said we’d head here with Toosey. He’s owned by a local syndicate, so it would be great if he were to run well at the track and I’m sure they’d have a great night out if he could get his head in front!

He’s off a much lower mark over hurdles and he’s definitely got place chances if he can follow up from his Wexford run.

In the closing bumper (7.50pm), we run Bentham who hasn’t quite shown on the track what he has at home.

He gets weight off a number of his rivals, so should have place chances at least and if he can translate his work at home on to the track, he could easily get himself involved.

LIMERICK (Sunday)

We’ve only got one runner on Sunday and that’s Mid Atlantic Storm in the maiden (3.25pm)

He won a barrier trial for us before his track debut at Sligo over 6f. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the race for him as both the track and trip were on the sharp side, but nonetheless he ran well to finish third. He should come on plenty for the experience as well as this step up to a mile and we’re hoping he can go close.

Of all of our runners over the weekend, he’s probably the one we’d give the best chance to.

Lever Du Soleil

One of our winners from earlier in the week at Musselburgh, Lever Du Soleil will be declared to run under a penalty at Ayr on Monday (4.30pm). Hopefully he can follow up there and if he does, we might even run him at Catterick under a double penalty later in the week too.
