BETDAQ BRAND AMBASSADOR GAVIN CROMWELL: Latest news on his four runners at Listowel and Gowran today.
Biddy The Boss and Aasleagh Dawn head to Listowel to contest the mares maiden hurdle at 1.30. Biddy The Boss ran her best race to date over hurdles at Limerick last month when finishing 2nd. She won a bumper for us last October and she appreciated the sounder surface at Limerick on her return from a short break a fortnight ago. She’s officially rated 107 and she’s entitled to go close here. Ger Fox partners her on his return to action. Aasleagh Dawn is first reserve and will hopefully get a run. She has only had one outing over hurdles and this is only her third career start. She’ll improve with experience over hurdles and will find life easier in handicaps.
Nisior Donn and Wardy head to Gowran for the 1m apprentice handicap. Nisior Donn has had one outing for us when 3rd in a maiden at Dundalk and is making her handicap debut today. She looks fairly treated off 56 and is ready to go after a short break. We’ll hopefully have a good summer ahead with her. Donagh O Connor rides. Wardy is having his first run for the yard having come from the UK. He’s been gelded and we’re hoping the application of cheek pieces will help him concentrate a bit more. He seems to have improved in his homework but we’ll know more about him after today’s outing. Ben Coen takes 4lbs off.
