JONATHAN HOBBS: A double-header of major events this weekend in the world of greyhound racing – with the finals of the Jay & Kay Coach Tours Kent St Leger at Crayford on Saturday and the Ladbrokes Kent Derby at Central Park on Sunday.

All the action is on RPGTV and, hopefully, a chance to play up those winnings after Young Princess stormed home in last week’s Coral Romford Puppy Cup Final – at double-figure odds. Betdaq’s greyhound fans were in clover!

Sheldan is probably the percentage call in the Crayford decider after Kevin Boon’s dog overhauled Roxholme Dolly in last week’s semis – posting a fastest time in the process. Same again in the final?

At Central Park, the value might be with the well-drawn Forest Alan over the exciting Bockos Doomie. Seamus Cahill’s dog showed real gears down the back when qualifying last week behind Ballymac Osby, who might just struggle to overcome a wider draw.

Crayford (Saturday)

7.43 A hurdles race and battle between Ricky Holloway’s pair of Bockos Tiger and Shaneboy Bowie. Preference is for the former’s far better early pace.

Play: Bockos Tiger

8.00 Julie Luckhurst’s Snowdon Archie made a hash of the start last week against Manic State but can bounce back if hitting the sand running. Note a best of 33.66sec.

Play: Snowdon Archie

8.15 Magical Houdini has recently been sold into local trainer Belinda Green’s kennel and could make a winning return to Crayford. He ran well here during the Guys & Dolls.

Play: Magical Houdini

8.51 Ballynabee Lucy is part-owned by Kent St Leger sponsor Karl Brazier so would be a popular winner. She has run well here in the past and will improve for a Harlow spin.

Play: Ballynabee Lucy

9.09 Kent St Leger Final time now. Roxholme Dolly should again blaze the trail and could get away – especially if Sheldan, Antigua Fire et al crowd up. However, Sheldan’s strength reeled in Roxholme Dolly in the semis and Kevin Boon’s bitch could repeat the dose.

Play: Sheldan

Central Park (Sunday)

6.27 Garryvoe Noah has made an unbeaten start to his UK career and Dave Allen’s dog might have too many guns for these in this 450m affair. Improvement is still likely.

Play: Garryvoe Noah

7.03 Bull Run Byte ran well at Monmore last week, overcoming a missed break to finish second, and does have a good record at Central Park. Kevin Hutton’s bitch could make all.

Play: Bull Run Byte

7.18 Sparta Master had no luck in the Kent Derby heats when knocked over but has returned with a fast trial and Sharon Thompson’s dog could go well – at a price in a hot race.

Play: Sparta Master

8.09 Fitenwell failed to hit the sand running in the Kent Derby semis, but could get back on track from this midfield pitch. Emma Richards’ dog has won six from eight races.

Play: Fitenwell

8.27 Is Headford Ranger the next star stayer? Kevin Hutton’s dog has some eye-catching four-bend lines and looks strong enough to think he might enjoy the step up.

Play: Headford Ranger

8.44 Kent Derby Final time now. Fayes Jet was superb in the semis last week and has won from the inside before, so might he hold up hot favourite Bockos Doomie? The latter wins with a clear surely, but the strong Forest Alan might be value as drawn.

Play: Forest Alan
