JONATHAN HOBBS: Crayford takes centre-stage on Saturday morning with a four-final programme live on SportyStuff TV/RPGTV with the features being the Ladbrokes Gold Collar Final and the Ladbrokes Cesarewitch Final.

These two crackerjack £10,000-to-the-winner finals are supported by the Kent Rose Bowl and Kent National Hurdle deciders and kick off a cracking weekend given the Limerick Leger final takes place on Saturday night, while the final of the Sovereign Stakes is the showpiece event at Towcester on Sunday.

But let’s take a look at the best of the Crayford action.

Crayford

10.37: Favourite backers can get off to a flyer with Ricky Holloway’s Aayamza Baron. He finished behind kennelmate Toolmaker Daddy in the heats of the Kent National Hurdle but this looks a drop in class, with his four-bend pace should secure a handy slot early.

Play: Aayamza Baron

10.53: Knighganny Lad needs to overcome lack of Crayford experience but has generally tackled tougher contests than this 540m one-off. He’s capable of a slick exit and has posted some good clocks off the front at Romford and Towcester when dominating.

Play: Knighganny Lad

11.24 A maiden 714m open now and the recent hurdles handslips of Upward Diamond make Julie Luckhurst’s an interesting contender. The orange jacket is a consistent local who regularly places over 540m and over this trip so should always be thereabouts.

Play: Upward Diamond

11.39: The first of today’s finals is the Ladbrokes.com Kent National Hurdle where the vote goes the way of Ricky Holloway’s Nomansland Flyer (11.39). He cut loose in the heats and another fast start could put pressure on these. Roxholme Biscuit rates the chief danger.

Play: Nomansland Flyer

11.54: A bitches contest now where Garryglass Abbie catches the eye. She won her Gold Collar heat in front-running style and posted a decent clock and that formline should be good enough if repeated here. Patrick Janssens’ runner ran well in the Oaks last month.

Play: Garryglass Abbie

12.09: The Ladbrokes Gold Collar Final now and Gymstar Elusive might just get first run on favourite Warzone Tom. John Mullins’s runner raced away from his rivals last week and same again from the boxes puts pressure on these from the get-go. Respect is due to the consistent Ballynabee Lucky should the Hove raider flash out.

Play: Gymstar Elusive

12.39: Another £10,000 final now for the Ladbrokes Cesarewitch Final – and a brilliant but impossible affair to unravel!. There’s plenty of chances so whoever plays their cards right likely wins. Slight preference is for Heather Dimmock’s Alaskan Dawn. He’d have been far shorter with a red jacket draw but could overcome this midfield slot with a start. However clearing in-form Salacres Pippy next door will not be easy, while Blueberry Bullet and Antigua Lava are top-class kennelmates.

Play: Alaskan Dawn

12.54: Another hurdles contest now, this time over 380m, which should suit Foxrock Brae from Julie Luckhurst’s kennel. A cracking starter he could get away and add to a decent 19 wins from 50 starts record. He showed up well behind Toolmaker Daddy a fortnight ago.

Play: Foxrock Brae

1.09: The last of the finals at Crayford is the Kent Rose Bowl where once again the vote goes the way of impressive heat winner Russian Blake for the John Mullins team. He blasted out last week to set the standard and a repeat does the trick here.

Play: Russian Blake

Good luck all.
