JONATHAN HOBBS: Eyes down for the first open races of 2021 – with Swindon and Central Park the RPGTV cards tonight and both staging opens.
Swindon could see Angie Kibble continue her fine run of form having won the Property192 Oaks with Ballymac Trend before sending out a one-two in the British Bred St Leger at Central Park last week with Zaha and Emotional.
Both the last-named pair are back out tonight – at home track Swindon – and will have their supporters given they represent bang-in-form Kibble’s team.
Central Park features a trial stakes for the upcoming novice hurdlers’ championship The Springbok – and these will feature regularly in the coming weeks.
Let’s take a look at the main Swindon action.

6.51: A cracking maiden kicks off the Swindon action with Kevin Hutton in pole position with two hot runners in Magical Firebird and Signet Storm. The former gets the vote having flown round Central Park last week, while her kennelmate needs to clear Papapapapops next door. Adeles Duke is an interesting newcomer here on Irish form and smart trials.

7.26: Another solid race. Jason Heath’s Seomra Razl showed good pace during the recent Olympic at Hove and, if handling the new surroundings of Swindon, might get away again. A slick exit is required to keep top local Boca Junior at bay, while last week’s big six-bend Central Park winner Zaha will be running on given the drop in distance tonight.

7.58: Kevin Hutton’s Lights Out is never easily discounted and can be expected to run another big Swindon race. She’s reached both the Produce Stakes and Oaks finals over C&D and should always be prominent – and her all-round speed might be tough to hold thereafter – she never gives up. Go with earlybird Westway Blake for the forecast.

8.27: A cracking six-bend contest now and Angie Kibble’s Emotional could continue her fine run of form. Second to kennelmate Zaha in last week’s British Bred St Leger at Central Park, her pace at both ends could shine against the rail tonight. That said a ping-start from Slaneyside Izzy might make hay. Both Stardom and Affirmed are powerful sorts.

And for hurdles fans at Central Park . . .
7.36: A race full of unexposed hurdlers could make things tricky for punters, but the David Mullins-trained Kent County Hurdle runner-up Droopys Rex may be tough to hold after a decent show in his two jumps races so far. He showed good pace last week behind the classy Nomansland Flyer in the final and can raise his game again. However, respect here on UK debut to Towstar Arnie from the kennel (Lee Field) which supplied last year’s Springbok champion in Burgess Doc. He’s a 28.68sec winner on the flat at Shelbourne.
