7.45pm Week 15 of Spains La Liga and Real Madrid have a healthy six point lead as we head into the festive season. An entertaining draw against Dortmund last Wednesday put them through to the knockouts of the Champions League.
It was a great week all round for La Liga teams in Europe as all seven Spanish teams went through with ease to the next rounds of both the Champions and Europa Leagues.
Athletic Bilbao topped their Europa League group last Thursday in Vienna however now travel south to Andalusia to face Real Betis in La Liga.
Bilbao have lost only once in their last nine games in all competitons however the last four times they played in La Liga after playing in Europe….. they drew once.. and lost three times.
Bilbao’s Record on the road in Europe is decent however in La Liga it’s a different story with just 0ne point gained from their last four road trips.
Hosts Real Betis are playing well these days. A six one drubbing a few weeks back to Real Madrid was a blow however Bilbao are more their level and they will go into tonight’s game with confidence having won two of their last four and played out a cracking three all draw last week with Celta Vigo. Veteran Betis Striker – Ruben Castro is hitting form with two goals in his last two games and at around 6.5 with BETDAQ is a decent first goal-scorer option.
On paper Bilbao have more quality and are worthy favourites on BETDAQ however with their poor form after European games and weak away record, that price is no value to me. Real Betis are a decent side but a little too unreliable to back.
