7.45pm We’re into the third round in the League Cup now and we have a nice clash between Leicester and Liverpool to enjoy on Sky Sports. Both sides had disappointing draws at the weekend, with Liverpool more disappointed being at home to Burnley. Leicester have had a tough start to the Premier League season, and from both sides you’d probably say that they are most likely to name a stronger XI.
It’s always hard to know what lineups we will get at this stage in the League Cup though, and the match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Leicester 3.4, Liverpool 2.16 and the draw is 3.9. There’s likely to be plenty of movement when the teams come out, so definitely keep an eye on the BETDAQ market for some great value trades.
From an outright bet point of view, we like the Liverpool lay at 2.16. We noted that Leicester have had a tough start to the Premier League above, however they have had to play Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea. It was disappointing that they couldn’t beat Huddersfield away at the weekend, but Huddersfield have started the campaign well. Since Shakespeare took over, Leicester have won six of their nine home games in the Premier League, and one of those wins came against Liverpool too.
Leicester have always been pretty strong at home, and this looks like a good chance to lay Liverpool at 2.16 which looks very good value.
