PREVIEW
Freiburg welcome Bayern Leverkusen to Dreisamstadion for tonight’s Bundesliga fixture in the hope of ending a two game losing streak. The hosts have been beaten by Hamburg and Kaiserslautern in their last two games and that has kept them rooted to the bottom of the league.
As well as conceding too many at the back, Freiburg are also finding goals hard to come by at the business end. Just five goals have been scored by the hosts in their past six league games.
Bayer Leverkusen have found the going tough over the past few weeks with some inconsistent performances that has left the side off the pace of the leaders. As it stands, Leverkusen are ninth in the table but only three points from the European places. Robin Dutt will certainly see this as an opportunity to close the gap on the sides above.
Although going strong in the Champions League, Leverkusen have not won in two league games. The visitors did perform admirably in Valencia last week and if they can play at the same level – the three points should be in the bag. Leverkusen haven’t tasted defeat against Freiburg in six meetings and on that run there have been five victories. The most recent clash ended in a hard-fought 1-0 win for Leverkusen.
An away win here is currently trading at around 2.2 on BETDAQ and I wouldn’t put anyone off taking that price.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Bayer Leverkusen at around 2.2: 4 points
Thursday’s Return: +3.78
