PREVIEW

Bayer Leverkusen have a chance to move into the European places with a victory over Kaiserslautern tonight, although it may be short lived with the rest of the sides playing over the weekend. Leverkusen’s form has been inconsistent over the past few matches and they managed to blow a two goal lead against third from bottom Hamburg last time out.

Kaiserslautern are four places below in the Bundesliga and are on a solid run coming into this clash. The side have made steady progress of late, but it remains tight in the bottom third of the table.

Marco Kurz’s side are now unbeaten in five matches across all competitions and they beat Freiburg in their most recent home league contest. Etey Shechter’s 75th minute goal proved the difference in a close contest with Freiburg and goals have remained tough to come by. That was only Shechter’s third league strike of the campaign and Kaisersluatern’s past six games have seen just six goals scored.

Stefan Kiebling also has three league goals to his name and leads the scoring charts for the visitors. With neither side in particularly hot form and suffering from a lack of fire power, I can see this one ending all square. However, I would be more inclined to back there to be fewer than three goals at around 1.91 on BETDAQ. Further support for a low scoring game is that the last meeting between these clubs produced a single goal.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back under 2.5 goals at around 1.91: 5 points

Thursday’s Return: NO BET
