PREVIEW

Friday evening’s Bundesliga offering sees in-form Borussia Monchengladbach travel to Cologne looking for a fourth successive league win. Tonight’s hosts are 11th in the table, but they have a game in hand on the sides above after last weekend’s game against Mainz was postponed.

Before last weekend, Cologne managed to blow a two goal lead at Werder Bremen, although they were not helped by Henrique Sereno Fonseca’s dismissal shortly after the break. Cologne have been frustratingly inconsistent this season and that has been reflected in their recent run of three wins and three defeats in their last six league games.

Borussia M’gladbach have put together a good run to push themselves up to third in the table. Manager Lucien Favre will be looking to build on the terrific 5-0 win against Bremen last weekend and the omens are good. These two sides met twice last campaign and M’gladbach won both games, scoring nine times in the process.

Marco Reus is making a real name for himself this season and has been deservedly called up to the German national side. The striker grabbed a brace against Bremen to take his season tally to ten, but he has scored seven times in his past three club outings.

Even though Cologne have the luxury of playing at home, M’gladbach just look too good at the moment. With Reus up front they have enough firepower to score goals and I’m happy to tip up the away win at around 2.24 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Borussia M’gladbach at around 2.24: 5 points

Thursday’s Return: +2.34 points
