PREVIEW

Part one of Liverpool’s huge week went according to plan and having dumped Man City out of the Carling Cup, Man United visit Anfield today for a huge FA Cup game. Craig Bellamy inspired the Reds’ fightback against City and Kenny Dalglish will be hoping it can prove the catalyst for a strong finish to the season.

Anfield was rocking on Wednesday evening and more of the same can be expected for United’s visit. Liverpool had the better of the league meeting earlier in the campaign, but like so many times already this season the Reds were unable to convert their chances. Luis Suarez’s absence has had a big impact on results and Dalglish’s side have drawn too many games against some of the lesser clubs in the league.

United certainly won’t have it all their own way as Liverpool have not been beaten at home in the league all season.  However, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side can boast of the best away record in the league with eight victories in eleven outings.

Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck continue to shine for United and they tore Arsenal to pieces at times last Sunday. With Liverpool playing twice in a couple of days, United should be the fresher and Sir Alex’s side have the firepower to progress to the fifth round at the first time of asking.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Man Utd at around 2.87: 4 points

Thursday’s Return: -4 points
