PREVIEW

The next round of Bundesliga action gets underway with SC Freiburg’s trip to the Volkswagen Arena to take on VfL Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg are currently tenth in the table and come into the game off an impressive goalless draw with highflying Borussia Monchengladbach. That draw saw that Die Wolfe were the first club to take a point from Monchengladbach since the turn of the year.

Although Die Wolfe haven’t been particularly solid at the back, they have claimed some decent scalps at home including Schalke 04, Hannover 96 and VfB Stuttgart. Mario Madzukic leads the way in the scoring charts with eight and he’ll once again provide the main attacking threat.

Freiburg are rock-bottom, but did hold Werder Bremen to a 2-2 draw last time out. Other than a narrow 1-0 win over fellow strugglers FC Augsburg, Freiburg have not taken three points from a game since the start of November. The loss of star striker Papiss Demba Cisse to Newcastle has certainly not helped and they have averaged just a goal per game in their past six Bundesliga outings. Cisse had nine goals before his departure and the next top scorer in the side is Stefan Reisinger on three.

The visitors are in poor form and don’t have the goals in the side to cause Wolfsburg any serious problems. My advice is to back the hosts in the HT/FT double result at around 2.78 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back the Wolfsburg HT/FT double result at around 2.78: 4 points

Thursday’s Return: -4 points
