Hoffenheim had a day to forget last weekend as the side were hammered 7-1 by Bayern Munich. The result meant that Hoffenheim slipped to 12th in the Bundesliga and their current form points to a difficult end to the season.
Tonight’s hosts have won only once in six league games and they have failed to win any of their previous six games at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena. Interestingly Markus Babbel’s side haven’t lost in six at home, but there have been far too many draws. It’s been a strange season for the club as they’ve only been beaten at home once in the league, but they’ve won only three times.
Stuttgart have been beaten just once in their past six Bundesliga matches, but they were left frustrated last Friday as they couldn’t find a way past Kaiserslautern. Although Stuttgart have found it tough on the road over their past few games, they did pick up a convincing 4-0 win at Hamburg last time out.
Bruno Labbadia’s side will give the host’s back four a real test as they’ve bagged 17 goals in their past six Bundesliga fixtures. However, Stuttgart have not shown enough on the road to warrant backing the away victory and I’d be more inclined to take the 3.3 available for a draw as Hoffenheim have drawn six on the spin at home.
