Charlton haven’t quite settled back into Championship life as well as some people expected, having taken just five points from four games so far, but that is still two more than second-from-bottom Crystal Palace.
The Addicks host the Eagles tonight looking to improve on a formidable recent home record. They’ve picked up 19 points from the last 21 at the Valley, and are looking for their seventh win in eight home league encounters.
These clubs last met in the Championship in 2008-09, when both fixtures ended in 1-0 wins for the club playing at home and overall Charlton have won seven of the last nine league clashes against Palace.
They are normally tight affairs though, with at least one of these clubs failing to score in six of their last seven meetings in the league. Palaces are still searching for a first point on their travels and amazingly haven’t won on the road in this calendar year.
