PREVIEW
Huddersfield make their way to Charlton for this evening’s League One action and it promises to be a cracking game with both clubs flying high in the table. The hosts are top of the league after 18 matches with 43 points and with only one defeat. Huddersfield’s task ahead is made even tougher as the Addicks have yet to taste defeat in the league at the Valley.
Chris Powell will have to make do without his captain, Johnnie Jackson, after he suffered a hamstring injury. Joey Gudjonsson scored a late winner for the Terriers on their last visit as the side were unable to find a vital breakthrough. Bradley Wright-Phillips failed to get his name on the scoresheet that afternoon, but with the way he’s playing at the moment he will fancy his chances this time. The former Man City player has scored 14 times in his last 17 league outings.
The Terriers though are in a rich vein of form themselves and should they avoid defeat tonight will have stretched their unbeaten league run to 43 matches. Lee Clark will also be without one of his star players after Alan Lee begins the first of a three match ban for his dismissal against Notts County.
Jordan Rhodes grabbed a brace in the 2-1 win over County to take his season total to 15 and Charlton will need to find a way to keep him quiet. Both sides are in top form coming into this game and Huddersfield’s run cannot be argued against. Therefore, the draw looks the way to go here at around 3.55 on BETDAQ – a result both managers would probably settle for.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back the draw at around 3.55: 4 points
Sunday’s Return: +16.50 points
