PREVIEW
West Ham can close the gap on Southampton to just two points should they get the better of Leciester City this evening at the Walkers Stadium. Middlesbrough’s late winner at the Riverside against the Saints means that the Hammers have an outside chance to claim the final automatic promotion place, but it won’t be easy.

The Hammers are already guaranteed to finish third and if they are unable to overtake the Saints, they will at least will want to head into the play-offs on the back of some solid results.

Sam Allardyce will much be happier with recent performances than a few weeks back, although they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Bristol City last time out. That draw saw the Hammers make it six away games without a defeat and they have been in superb scoring form. Ricardo Vaz Te has now bagged five goals in his previous three games and 20 league goals in total.

Leciester are now out of the promotion picture and have relatively little to play for. The hosts have been strong at home in recent weeks, but the Hammers have enjoyed playing away from the demanding home fans. With 12 away wins, the Hammers have the second most victories on the road and with so much riding on tonight’s game, I fancy another.

The Foxes will likely have half an eye on their holidays and I would recommend that punters back West Ham at around 2.27 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back West Ham at around 2.27 on BETDAQ: 4 points

Sunday’s Return: -6 points

APRIL RETURN TO DATE: -40.84
