PREVIEW
West Ham are in pole position to reach the play-off final at Wembley after a dominant 2-0 victory at Cardiff on Thursday evening. Two goals from Jack Collison did the damage and even with their patchy home form, Sam Allardyce will be confident of reaching the final.
The Hammers’ troubles at Upton Park have been well-documented this season. From 23 home games in the Championship, the Hammers won eleven times and drew on eight occasions. Some good news for Hammers fans is that they ended the campaign at home on a high note, with a 6-0 and 2-1 victory.
Cardiff have a mountain to climb after their poor effort in the first leg, but they won’t feel that the tie is dead and buried just yet. The Bluebirds took all three points on their last visit to Upton Park and they know that if they start well, the home fans might start to become restless.
Like tonight’s host, Cardiff have enjoyed more success on the road than at home of late. The visitors are unbeaten in six straight away league games and they’ve won four times during that run.
Even with an impressive away record, the Hammers have found form at home at the right time and I would recommend backing them to secure their third victory over Cardiff this season at around 1.6 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back West Ham at 1.6: 6 points
Sunday’s Return: +3.65 points
