PREVIEW
High-flying West Ham play host to struggling Stoke tonight at Upton Park in an intriguing little contest.
Sam Allardyce has never been one to doubt his own managerial ability and he has surprised many who predicted a relegation battle for the Hammers. His team sit seventh in the table and know a victory tonight will see them leapfrog London rivals Arsenal and Everton into fifth place.
Stoke have not picked up a victory in their last 15 league games away from home, losing nine and have scored only eight goals in the process.
However, despite their troubles in front of goal, Tony Pulis’ men remain a tough nut to crack and have drawn with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool this season. They also boast the joint-best defensive record with City, having conceded only ten goals – nine of those came away from the Britannia Stadium though.
West Ham have been victorious in four of the last five games between these two sides at Upton Park and have lost just one of their six home games this season in the Premier League.
The east London club should make a bold bid for victory but, in a tight affair, it’s probably a better bet to back under 2.5 goals at around 1.91 on BETDAQ.
