PREVIEW

The Merseyside derby will be the first of two huge clashes over the weekend, with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal meeting at White Hart Lane on Sunday. Saturday’s Everton and Liverpool game will kick things off as the Reds make the short trip to Goodison Park.

Despite being 11th in the league, Everton will be hopeful of getting a result against Dalglish’s side after they beat Liverpool 2-0 in last season’s game at the Toffees’ ground. But they come into tonight’s match on the back of some poor form at home, with a win, draw and loss from three contests.

Manager David Moyes will be aware that Everton have only been victorious in one of the last six fixtures against Liverpool, but will be pleased that the Reds have lost their last two away games, including a 4-0 defeat to Spurs a fortnight ago.

The Toffees can be backed at around 3.15 on BETDAQ for the outright victory for today’s lunch-time kick-off.

Meanwhile, King Kenny will have been pleased to turn things around after a tough few games in the Premier League. A 2-1 win over Wolves ended a run of two league defeats on the bounce without finding the back of the net.

The Reds have secured three wins so far in their campaign, with one of them being a 2-0 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates and they’re currently fifth in the table. Liverpool are available at around 2.50 on BETDAQ for the away win. Steven Gerrard is in line for a start and he’ll be looking to open his account for the season after a long time out of the game.

The Merseyside derby has proven to be a lively one with a sending off for each side in their February fixture last year.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Liverpool at around 2.50: 4 points
Friday’s Return: +6.16 points
