PREVIEW
Chelsea saved their best performance of the season for Manchester City’s visit on Monday night and it was vital they got the three points. The Blues are now seven points behind the league leaders and have a chance to close that gap to four points if they beat Wigan at the DW Stadium.
Andre Villas-Boas will have been delighted with the last performance and it’s important the side don’t lose momentum in order to mount a serious title challenge. There will still be concerns about the defending as Chelsea once again failed to keep a clean sheet on Monday.
With that said, Chelsea have not conceded a goal against the Latics in the past three meetings. Those past three games have all been won by the Blues, having racked up 15 goals in the process.
Roberto Martinez’s side are fresh off a terrific 2-1 win at the Hawthorns and he’ll be telling his side they have nothing to lose against Chelsea. Victor Moses is starting to find some real form with a run of games and he’ll be relishing the opportunity to go up against the likes of John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic.
Chelsea have now won their past three games and I don’t see Wigan proving much trouble, even on their own turf. An away win is currently trading at around 1.4 and I’d recommend taking that price on BETDAQ.
