PREVIEW
Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham side were sitting comfortably in third position towards the end of February, however fixture congestion and some tough games against the top sides has resulted in Spurs seemingly struggling to hold on to their Champions league spot. Arsenal’s slip up at Loftus Road saw Spurs draw level with their rivals once more and they’ll be desperate not to hand back the advantage so soon.
In contrast to Spurs, before Martin O’Neill took over the reins, Sunderland were floating nervously around the lower depths of the table. However, with seven wins in his 11 home games O’Neill has guided Sunderland up to ninth position and they now have a very realistic chance of gaining a Europa League spot.
Many would suggest that Tottenham are back on track after a home victory against Swansea, but with no wins in their last six away games Spurs desperately need to find the form that landed them in the automatic Champions League spot at Christmas.
Sunderland’s recent form left them with only eight points from a possible 21 and even with a very encouraging 3-3 draw away at Manchester City last time out, they may struggle against a determined Spurs side.
Spurs have nearly a full squad to select from and I think this will be the determining factor in a tight game and I expect Spurs to break their away duck. Punters can back Tottenham at around 2.28 on BETDAQ and that should be taken.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Tottenham at around 2.28: 5 points
Friday’s Return: -4.00 points
APRIL RETURN TO DATE: +14.69
