When Chelsea and Newcastle have met lately, it has tended to be the away team that has ended the game happier.
A quick glance at the head to head record shows that in the last ten contests in all competitions there have been five away wins and just a single maximum for the home side, which came nearly five years ago.
Newcastle’s recent record at Stamford Bridge is impressive and the three points they claimed in West London last season will live long in the memory for the exquisite goals scored by Papiss Cisse.
That will give Alan Pardew’s men plenty of confidence ahead of Saturday’s contest and they have every chance of taking something from the game.
Sure, Chelsea have made a good start to the season and are the early pace setters after winning 2-0 at Wigan and 4-2 at home to Reading, but the Magpies will be a truer test of their ability to make a championship charge.
They beat Tottenham 2-1 last weekend and will be looking to get close to the 11 game unbeaten run they kicked off the 2011/12 campaign with.
Newcastle look at big price at 6.8 but a better option could be laying the Blues at 1.58 on the Daq.
