PREVIEW
Manchester City’s unbeaten run finally came to an end on Monday evening and now the whole of the Premier League will be watching to see how the side will react. Roberto Mancini’s side lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and will be looking to send out a message to the chasing pack that it was just a blip.
The pressure will really be on the league leaders as Manchester United play on Sunday lunchtime against QPR and by the time they kick off, City may well be second. City have now dropped five points since August, but Arsenal must be concerned that all of those have come on their travels.
City remain unbeaten at the Etihad Stadium and have thus far not been given a run for their money. In seven home league games City have scored 24 times and have conceded only four.
Arsenal will come into the game in high spirits and will fancy their chances of getting at least a point. However, Arsene Wenger will be frustrated that the Gunners have not been as consistent outside of North London as they have at the Emirates. There’ll also be worries that the Gunners have failed to score against City in their past two games, including a recent Carling Cup tie.
Mancini’s side have been formidable at home this season and even with the Gunners showing decent form, I reckon City will bounce back from their first defeat with three points against Arsenal.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Man City at around 1.75: 5 points
Saturday’s Return: -4.00
