Brendan Rodgers’ start at Liverpool has not began well. Losing 3-0 at the Hawthorns was a shocker and the champions are in town next to heap further troubles on the Merseyside club. Following his red card against West Brom, Daniel Agger will be unavailable for selection as the Reds try to find a way to stop a relentless City.
Since the summer break, Carlos Tevez has looked excellent and already has two goals from two starts. The Argentine will need to continue his fine start given his fellow countryman picked up a knee injury on the opening weekend and will be out of action for around four weeks. Roberto Mancini’s main concerns surprisingly have been at the back as he’s seen his side concede four times already.
Roberto Mancini’s men don’t have a great record at Anfield – they haven’t won there under him in league or cup – and their last victory came in May 2003 when a Nicolas Anelka brace cancelled out Milan Baros’ strike.
However, this City side is a world away from a few seasons ago and with the Reds’ terrible start the visitors can take advantage of the nerves around Anfield. Backing an away win at around 2.48 on BETDAQ is recommended.
