Tottenham travel to Rome tonight desperate to put their recent run of poor form behind them as they face Italian outfit Lazio in the Europa League.
Spurs have lost four of their last five games, including a humiliating 5-2 defeat to arch rivals Arsenal on Saturday. Andre Villas-Boas’ men have not fared much better in this competition, winning only against Slovenian minnows NK Maribor at home and drawing their other three games.
Lazio, while not being the force they once were, are still a decent side with the likes of Miroslav Klose and Hernanes in their ranks. Edoardo Reja’s side come into this clash in good form, having won two of their last three games and grabbing a point away from home against Serie A champions Juventus on the weekend.
This has got the makings of a close encounter and a low scoring game looks on the cards. Tonight’s hosts have conceded only one goal in their four group games and the only previous encounter between these sides ended in a goalless stalemate.
