Chennai Super Kings’ poor form in the T20 competition has left them with a must-win scenario in the final group game against the New South Wales Blues. It offers the IPL outfit one last chance to secure a place in last eight.
Chennai have been well below par thus far and something must change if they’re to have any hope of winning today. Against the Mumbai Indians they let an excellent winning position slip and then they were comfortably beaten by Trinidad and Tobago in the previous game. Their only win came against the Cobras and they have Dwayne Bravo’s brilliant display to thank for that one.
In contrast, the Australian outfit have looked in much better shape and they have won two out of their three matches. Neither victory was easy, but it shows the side have excellent strength and fighting spirit even when the odds are against them.
If Chennai are to turn their Champions League form around, they’ll need to start getting some big performances from starman, Suresh Raina. A disappointing return of 40 runs from three innings has not helped his side and he’ll be desperate to show he’s worth the billing.
Similarly, New South Wales will need Shane Watson to find his form with the bat. When on song, the Aussie can take the game away with his strong and aggressive batting.
With the way Chennai have played, I cannot see New South Wales stumbling here and I would take the 2.26 on BETDAQ for them to pick up a third win.
