PREVIEW

As we approach the halfway point of the season, Owen Coyle and Steve Kean are in desperate need of a change in fortune or both could be without a job in the not too distant future. Blackburn and Bolton are 19th and 20th respectively in the table and know that nothing other than three points this evening will suffice.

Kean’s torrid week was made even worse with the news that defender Scott Dann has been ruled out for six weeks with a groin injury. The defence has been a real area of concern for Rovers and the two West Brom goals took the total Kean’s side have conceded to 13 in six league outings. The hosts have won just once in six league games, although Bolton’s recent form suggests this will be a scrappy game.

Bolton have yet to reach double figures in league points after 16 matches and with the defeat at Fulham succumbed to their fifth consecutive loss. Like Rovers, Bolton have been all over the place at the back and have shipped eleven goals in that period.

Coyle’s side have failed to score in their past two away games and I don’t see many goals in this one. With both sides in such dire form, a draw looks the most likely outcome and unfortunately a point in not great for either manager.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back the draw at around 3.55: 4 points

Monday’s Return: +4.90
