PREVIEW
Alexis Sanchez’s second half equaliser saw that Chile fought back from a goal down to get a draw against a strong Uruguayan outfit last time out. The solid result moved Chile to four points, top of Group C, and the side now know that victory against Peru would secure a place in the quarter-finals.

The head-to-head record is firmly in Chile’s favour after they have won the past four matches, winning the most recent fixture 3-1 in Peru. Interestingly, across the previous ten internationals between the teams, Peru have registered just three wins – the last being in 2005.

Chile arrived at the Copa America off the back of some excellent results, including a 2-0 victory over Colombia last March and the side are now unbeaten in their last ten matches.

La Roja are currently trading at 1.75 on the ‘Daq’, but they won’t have it all their own way when they come up against a solid defence which has only shipped four goals in their past 13 outings. Peru, trading at 5.9, have also managed to keep six clean sheets in seven games.

The main concern for Peru is that those strong defensive efforts have been against some of the lesser known nations, including Panama. Faced by an attack-minded Chilean side they will likely come under far more pressure and that is reflected in their price to cause an upset.

Peru’s José Paolo Guerrero has already scored two goals from two games and if the Chileans can keep the inform striker quiet, they are certainly worth backing to take all three points.
