If Arsenal win their final two Group F fixtures they will qualify top and with that avoid the so called big guns in the first knock-out round stage. Inconsistencies cost the Gunners dear in the 2010/11 competition as they finished second to then be beaten by Barcelona in the last 16.
So far so good for the Gunners this year and they remain unbeaten after four games. Arsene Wenger will have been disappointed with the goalless draw last time out against Marseille as they missed an opportunity to tighten their grip at the top. Dortmund were beaten two nil in their only other visit to the Gunners, but they can expect a tougher test this evening.
At the weekend, Jurgen Klopp’s side travelled to the Allianz Arena and came away with all three points against the league leaders, Bayern Munich. That result closed the gap at the top of the Bundesliga and sets the side up perfectly for the game at the Emirates. Mario Goetz scored the only goal against Bayern and Arsenal will need to pay special attention to the tricky midfielder.
Robin Van Persie continues to set the league alight and the Dutchman scored both goals in Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Norwich at the weekend. This promises to be an intriguing game with both sides in excellent form, but the Gunners have home advantage on their side. Dortmund have not traveled well in the group, losing both away contests and with that I would suggest backing a home win at 2.2 on BETDAQ.
