PREVIEW
AC Milan survived the last 16 stage by the skin of their teeth, when almost blowing a 4-0 lead against Arsenal, to set-up a fascinating quarter-final tie with Barcelona. Back in Italy Milan maintained their lead at the top of Serie A with a 2-1 win over Roma on the weekend with Barca old boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbing a brace.
Arsenal’s 3-0 win at the Emirates was the first time in ten European matches that Milan have tasted defeat and a similar performance cannot be afforded here. The seven-time European champions have not been at their usual high standards across the past few seasons and this is the first time since 2007 that they’ve reached the last eight. Ibrahimovic has been a big part of that with 29 goals for the season.
Thiago Silva will be a big loss for Milan as they try and find a way to stop the magical Lionel Messi. The Argentine is having another superb season at Barcelona and leads the competition scoring charts with 12. Five of those came against Bayer Levekusen in the previous round and Barca head to Italy on the back of nine victories on the bounce.
Barca have won their past three away games without conceding a goal and they look a great shout to take a lead back to Catalunia this evening. Thiago Silva is a huge miss tonight and my advice would be to back the away win at around 1.73 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Barcelona at around 1.73: 5 points
Tuesday’s Return: -4.00 points
