PREVIEW
Roberto Di Matteo was handed the Chelsea manager’s post after leading the club to their maiden Champions League victory and their fourth FA Cup in six years last term. Since that brilliant end to the season, owner Roman Abramovich has splashed the cash once more, bringing in the likes of Marko Marin, Edin Hazard and Oscar in a bid to regain the Premier League crown they last won in 2009-10.

The Blues started off with a comfortable 2-0 win at Wigan on Saturday, with Hazard particularly impressive, and they are in action again tonight against league new boys Reading. Chelsea have never lost at home to Reading, winning three and drawing three of their six previous meetings at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are also unbeaten in their last 33 home league matches against promoted clubs since losing 1-0 to Charlton Athletic in April 2001.

And, despite his reputation as a bit of a flop for Chelsea, Fernando Torres will be making his 150th Premier League appearance and has already hit 72 goals in the division.

Reading needed a late penalty to snatch a draw at home against Stoke in their opener and have failed to win any of their last nine Premier League matches in London, losing the last three. The Royals last league win against Chelsea was 3-1 at home in the old Division Two way back in 1930.

Although Reading will be stubborn and are unlikely to be embarrassed by a heavy defeat, it is hard to see them leaving West London with a result. Chelsea are around 1.96 on BETDAQ to keep a clean sheet and that looks generous considering how little goal threat Reading posed on the weekend.
