MATCH POINT: It’s Women’s Final day at Wimbledon and we have recommended BETDAQ bets in the Ons Jabeur v Elena Rybakina game.
It wasn’t the easiest final to predict: Ons Jabeur v Elena Rybakina who will battle it out on Centre Court this afternoon.
It’s hopefully good news for the column as I recommended Jabeur as one of my three ante-post bets at around 10.5 on the Betdaq Betting Exchange.
I was less happy with my semi-final recommendations. Having said I could ‘easily have seen an upset’ with Rybakina winning – I didn’t expect her to beat Halep in straight sets and I’m still kicking myself for not just simply going Rybakina to win that match. Definitely a case of trying to be too clever 🙁
Whatever happens today there will be a new name on the trophy and I’m staying loyal with the Tunisian third see Jabeur who continues to impress on the grass at SW19.
The head to head records don’t tell us much – they are tied at one win a piece and in their third meeting Rybakina retired injured.
It’s a fascinating clash of styles – Rybakina’s main weapon is her serve – she has served the greatest number of aces on the WTA tour this season.
Jabeur is a shot maker and can conjure up magic in her games, if allowed the chance, with some stunning drop shots the speciality act.
Jabeur would go into the record books as the first African and Arab player to ever win a Grand Slam tournament.
She said: “I want to go bigger, inspire many more generations. Tunisia is connected to the Arab world, is connected to the African continent. The area, we want to see more players.
“It’s not like Europe or any other countries. I want to see more players from my country, from the Middle East, from Africa. I think we didn’t believe enough at certain points that we can do it. Now I’m just trying to show that. Hopefully people are getting inspired.”
I think she can do it, reward my ante-post advice and I will have a top up she does it in straight sets at around 2.9 on BETDAQ.
