MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column has two BETDAQ bets for the WTA Birmingham tournament starting on Monday. With Wimbledon on the horizon, how will the UK players fare on the grass ?

Heather Watson takes on Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the Nature Valley Classic, Birmingham on Monday with the BETDAQ market favouring the Czech player Strycova at around 1.57.
Watson, a wildcard pick, will benefit from home support at the latest WTA event held on the grass in Birmingham and also has the mental advantage of beating Strycova 2-1 on their most previous meeting which came nearly two years ago, but she trails 3-2 in the career head to heads.
On the grass, the head to head score is one win apiece with, possibly crucially, Strycova beating Watson 2-0 here at Birmingham in 2016.
Strycova is coming into this on the back of four successive defeats but seems to save her best tennis for the grass surface and is always dangerous with her backhand slice. She’s comfortably clear on rankings over Watson (49 v 115) and might again be able to dominate her here. Watson remains vulnerable on her second serve.
Johanna Konta should have an easier task to progress. She takes on Anett Kontaveit who is only rated two places below Konta on rankings (20 v 18) but Konta comes into this playing good tennis and will be keen for a good spin here with Wimbledon on the horizon.
Konta pulled out of Nottingham last week having made the French Open last four (her rating shot up to 18 from 47) and hopefully she can convert some of her excellent clay court form to the grass.
Konta has a 2-0 head to head lead over Kontaveit with wins in Acapulco in 2016 and the Fed Cup last year however both matches went to three sets.
Konta has never played particularly well here but should have plenty of confidence – enough surely to see her progress to the second round?
