DERBY PLATE AS GOOD AS THE DERBY: Well yesterday was just another normal day at the office. My highlight was the Champions League draw (zzzzzzzzzzzz sorry I dozed off there)! I wasn’t finished until 10pm which meant I had to miss the dogs and the Derby Plate was on. After a considerable amount of sulking I opened my Twitter account and all I could see from Ian Fortune was ‘Van Gaal does the clock’, what, when, how, where?! As fast as a hare I went onto IGB to check the results, its true I said out loud as the whole office heard my excitement. He has done it, he has broken the track record, College Causeway’s track record and not only did he break it, he destroyed it, smashed it, demolished Ok you get the picture! 29.10 he done, serious. There has been so much talk about this greyhound over the past few weeks as he has so many trials on his card and only a few races, well PJ’s patience paid off in the end. Delighted there is a new exciting record breaker on the scene now! We have our own Usain Bolt!
Me Mammy is 65 today, everybody say Happy Birthday Ann! She looks great for a granny though doesn’t she? When people always say to me ‘ah your the image of your Mammy’, thank god I do say because well have you seen my Dad! I have his brains and witty humour though! Such an exciting weekend I have ahead of me, dinner tonight for Mammy, Shelbourne Park tomorrow and wait for it…………. Dublin v Mayo on Sunday with my ole lad. Wooohoooo! God love my liver though lads.
So the results from the Derby Plate last night are almost as good as the Derby, almost! Jaytee Valencia, Country Legend, Tyrur Van Gaal, Blonde Nipper and Gyp Rosetti all won but some of the dogs I thought were going to at least qualify are gone. Material Man, Ballyana Foxtrot and Riverside Pat but who would of thought the track record for the 550 would of been broken in the Derby Plate. Such a pity Tyrur Van Gaal got knocked out of the Derby itself, it really would of added some spice.
My picks for tomorrow night are as follows:
1 Rural Hawaii and Jaytee Jet
2 Fair Taxes
3 Ballydoyle Honey and Ravenswood Emily as she loves trap one
4 Ballymac Matt and Highview Apollo
5 Cable Bay and Farloe Blitz
6 Peregrine Falcon
7 Blue Cafu
8 Amazing Dude and Samiya
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening. Here is a joke I heard last week in Shelbourne from Mickey to put a smile on your face!
Toodles,
Sarah
