PREVIEW
Newly-promoted Limerick have enjoyed a fairly successful campaign back in the Irish top-flight so far, but face tough opposition in the shape of champions and current top-of-the-table Sligo later. As if it wasn’t a difficult enough assignment already, the hosts will be without five senior players with another six facing late fitness tests.
The champions make the trip to Thomond Park needing victory to maintain their grip on first place and Ian Baraclough’s men should be confident of taking all three points against a side who lie six places below them in the table.
Sligo could only draw 0-0 against second-bottom Bray in their last league outing but had an easy task in the EA Sports Cup, gaining a confidence boosting 4-0 win over Mervue United. This is obviously tougher and they have injury concerns of their own with Evan McMillan out with a knee problem.
However, they welcome back David Cawley and Gavin Peers from suspension, while Ciaran Kelly and Seamus Conneely return from the treatment table.
You can get around 1.71 on BETDAQ for the away win and that looks a great price, considering firstly Limerick’s poor form – they’ve won just two of seven home games and just one of their last five anywhere – and secondly their selection headache for the game later. Take that price on Sligo.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Sligo at around 1.75 on BETDAQ: 6 points
Thursday: +5.25 points
MAY RETURN TO DATE: +7.34 points
