PREVIEW
Manchester United know a victory tonight over Aston Villa will seal a 20th league crown and it’s hard to see their rivals upsetting the apple cart. Villa have beaten United just once in the last 32 meetings between the sides but it did come at tonight’s venue, Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men will be bidding to avoid consecutive home league defeats for the first time since 2002. Although they’ve only won one of their last three games, it is little surprise to see the Red Devils at 1.24 on BETDAQ and, as short prices go, it’s still very appealing.
Villa looked nailed on for relegation a month ago but have hit some form in recent weeks to move three points clear of the drop with a game in hand of some of their rivals. Christian Benteke has scored ten goals in his last 13 matches as the Villans have won three of their last five.
The last meeting between the sides back in November was a thriller, with United coming back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 win and, despite their overall form being poor, you have to go back to December to find the last time Paul Lambert’s team were beaten by more than one goal in the league. With United not firing of late, it might be a tight game so chance Villa with a +2 Asian handicap, while the 2-1 United correct score at 10.5 is also worth an interest.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Aston Villa with a +2 Asian handicap at around 1.84 on BETDAQ: 4 points
Back the 2-1 United correct score at around 10.5 on BETDAQ: 1 points
Sunday: -5.00 points
APRIL RETURN TO DATE: +6.04 points
