Well we got the Ladies Final wrong, not in terms of the winner but the winning score. It did however turn out to be a brilliantly entertaining final.
So Messrs Nadal and Djokovic – you’ve got plenty to live up to and probably will if past encounters are any guide.
A resurgent Nadal holds a 21-15 career head to head record over Djokovic but if you drill down a little deeper into the stats and filter out the clay court matches (which Nadal loves) then it’s Djokovic who is ahead 12-8.
The pre-match BETDAQ market favours Nadal at 1.75 over Djokovic at 2.33 who of course was defeated by Andy Murray 12 months ago in an epic five setter.
Djokovic was also involved in a five-setter in the semi-final when he overcame a determined Stanislas Wawrenka.
