So the first semi-finalists are known and both matches yesterday went the way the betting suggested.
Argentina are second favourites for the tournament outright and play Belgium in the third quarter final at 5pm.
Argentina are particularly strong in defence and have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight matches. All four of their wins so far in Brazil have been by single goal margins.
Both teams needed to rely on extra time victories in the Round Of 16 – Belgium would have probably won more easily but for the heroics of Tim Howard in goal for USA.
Argentina and Messi should have enough class to get past Belgium inside 90 minutes. But a word of caution… Argentina have been eliminated in their last three World Cup quarter-finals.
