PREVIEW
It’s a Ladies Final that surely few could have ever predicted – not least of which today’s two finalists ranked 15th and 23rd in the world.

Bartoli has been here before. Six years ago when she suffered a straight sets defeat to Serena Williams.

The exit of Serena Williams at the hands of today’s other finalist Sabine Lisicki through the tournament wide open and we will also have a new champion.

Lisicki is taking part in her first Grand Slam Final and holds a 3-1 head to head record over Bartoli but it’s one apiece here at Wimbledon.

She is also likely to have the crowd on her side. The personable German has won them over with her heroics and post-match interviews and you would have to say of the two players Lisicki’s career is currently the one with the upward trajectory.

On the downside her gung-ho approach can see wide margin errors creep in but on balance it looks set for a straight set win for Lisicki.
