PREVIEW
People can be quite dismissive of the Confederations Cup but you saw the joy – and the despair – on the faces of the players from Spain and Italy after their dramatic semi-final on Thursday was settled in that most cruelest of ways – penalties.

Spain’s 7-6 shoot-out win after a 0-0 stalemate and 30 minutes of extra-time was thrilling for the neutral in what was a great game. Italy, devoid of strikers, really should have won it but as the humidity started to take its toll on the Azzurri, La Roja will also feel they should have nicked it late on.

That doesn’t matter now as Vicente Del Bosque’s men will continue their imperious charge to hold every major international title at the same time when they play Brazil in tonight’s showpiece.

This isn’t a vintage Brazil side by any stretch of the imagination but they have got the job done so far, winning every game. Their semi-final was a bit of a damp squib as they struggled to overcome Uruguay but on home soil they will fancy giving their fans something to cheer about ahead of the World Cup next term.

Neymar and Fred have been a successful strike duo for the Samba Boys over the last few months and they will cause Spain plenty of problems. The Spanish banged in goals in the group stage but 11 of their 13 were against the mighty Tahiti and Nigeria. Against Italy their strikeforce was pretty average and, on balance, Brazil are probably worthy marginal favourites at around 2.66 on BETDAQ.

In what is likely to be a tight game, though, it might be worth backing the 0-0 scoreline at half-time around 2.65 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back the 0-0 scoreline at half-time at around 2.82 on BETDAQ: 3 points
