This should be a cracking ICC Champions final today between hosts England, and India, who have been in superb form so far. It could be a red-letter day in the history of English cricket, as after stumbling at the final hurdle so many times in big ICC tournaments, they have the perfect opportunity to get their hands on this prestigious ODI trophy for the first time.
They face an impressive Indian side on song, but England have the firepower and home advantage to challenge India all the way.
The final will be played at Edgbaston which generally favours the batters. But a few days ago, England’s seamers surprised everyone by generating reverse swing very early in the innings against Australia. The Three Lions followed up with a good victory over South Africa in the last four and should be confident of performing well ahead of a big summer for the side.
India thrashed Sri Lanka – England’s conquerors in the group stage – and go into the match as favourites at around 1.76 on BETDAQ. They have won eight of the last ten ODI’s against Andy Flower’s men by did lose the last encounter by seven wickets.
The hosts are around 2.27 and, in what promises to be a competitive encounter, look a bit of a value for a minor upset.
