Tranmere’s time at the summit of League One seems a long time ago now, as seven defeats in their last ten league games has seen their title charge falter and they are now only in the play-off places on goal difference.
They host a Stevenage side who are on an even worse run of form, losing eight of their last ten matches, and remarkably Mark Robert’s men haven’t drawn a game in their last 19 games. They’ve also failed to hit the net in three of their last four games.
Both sides have an identical record in head-to-head clashes with a win each but Rovers had no problems dispatching the Boro 3-0 at Prenton Park last term – the only time they’ve met at Rover’s home.
Stevenage have lost their last five games on the road and it would be a minor surprise to see the 4.1 outsiders on BETDAQ take anything from this afternoon’s trip and Tranmere can get their title charge back on track with a win.
