The play off matches are becoming very formulaic – low scoring, nervous games and we saw the pattern repeated yet again last night with Fleetwood beating York 1-0 and QPR v Wigan level at 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The problem for punters is that the market is acutely aware of this. The ‘unders’ for this match tonight, for example, is trading at odds on on BETDAQ.
Orient were very much value for their draw at Peterborough on Saturday and were getting on top in the closing stages. They fell behind in the first half but Moses Odubajo’s second-half strike rescued them and for us, with home advantage, they look a solid bet.
Honours were shared in the regulation season between these two (both away wins) but Orient ended the season 12 points superior to Peterborough.
Both managers have no fresh injury concerns and are likely to field the same line-ups in the 7.45pm kick off at the Matchroom Stadium.
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson said: “We go into tonight full of confidence. We’re very good in one-off games, everyone’s aware of that. Perhaps we will be the underdogs now, which suits me as well.”.
It should be another close one, but the edge is given to the Londoners.
