Last week’s first leg Champions League quarter-final between Barcelona and Paris St Germain was a real thriller. Twice the hosts found themselves a goal down, but twice they fought back against the Spanish giants to leave the tie poised at 2-2 ahead of tonight’s return leg at the Nou Camp.
Barca are strong favourites at around 1.39 on BETDAQ to win later but they will have to do it without leading goalscorer and all-round brilliant player Lionel Messi. The diminutive Argentinean was taken off with an injury last week.
With the likes of Pedro, David Villa and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks, they are hardly struggling for attacking options but it remains the case they are overly reliant on their missing talisman for goals.
The expensively assembled Parisians were probably fortunate to draw the first leg, with the last-gasp equaliser having more than a touch of luck about it. But they have a class team and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a scorer in the reverse fixture, will be out to prove something on his return to Catalonia.
The hosts will probably win – they showed in dismissing AC Milan 4-0 in the last round that they can turn on the style when it matters – but the banker bet is both teams to score at a very presentable 1.8 on BETDAQ.
PSG have failed to net just once in their last ten games, and just once away to Porto in this tournament, and should hit the target, even if it might be in vain.
