Atletico Madrid and Chelsea fought out a 0-0 draw last night in which there were few serious chances.
It wasn’t particularly enthralling viewing but at this stage it’s all about grinding out a result. The 0-0 may, at face value, seem a good result for Chelsea but such is the weighting of the away goals rule that it’s Atletico who are the marginal favourites on BETDAQ after the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
It could easily be another ‘grinder’ of a match tonight as Real Madrid host Bayern in the first leg of the second semi-final at the Bernabeu.
The two teams have plenty of head to head form in the Champions League as you can see about and there’s usually goals. Real Madrid have already scored 32 goals in this season’s Champions League and are flying at the moment, coming here on the back of a win over Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
They should (and probably will need to) have the edge tonight and take an advantage to the second leg in Germany.
