PREVIEW
Tommy Haas rolled back the years to defeat dual-defending Sony Open champion and world number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets earlier in the week and is a warm favourite at around 1.51 on BETDAQ to see off the younger legs of Gilles Simon in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Now 34, Haas was gaining only his second ever victory over a world number one when humbling Djokovic 6-2 6-4 on Tuesday but there was no fluke about the win.

Simon, 27, is one of two French players in the quarter-finals and this is first time in the tournament’s history all eight men at this stage are European. Interestingly, three of the players are over 30.

The Frenchman is five places above Haas in the world rankings and is looking to become the first man from France to lift this prestigious title. While he may struggle to do that, he looks over-priced at around 2.83 on BETDAQ. Layers often overplay the value of a win over the top players and this pair are far more closely matched than the prices suggest.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Gilles Simon at around 2.83 on BETDAQ: 3 points

Tuesday: +16.60 points
MARCH RETURN TO DATE: +2.31 points
