Switzerland v Ecuador looked destined to become the first draw of the World Cup but thanks to the referee’s brilliant decision to allow advantage to be played Switzerland struck deep into injury time.
France completed the double with the minimum of fuss against Honduras.

Germany v Portugal looks one of the most exciting games of the Group stage on paper and should be close. Germany will be boosted by the return of both Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer after injury.
The other two teams in Group G battle it out at 11pm and I just favour USA over Ghana. Given the four teams in this Group you would have to assume that only a win will be good enough for either Ghana or USA to stand a chance of getting though to the last 16 phase.
