PREMIER LEAGUE FRIDAY: We preview Friday’s Premier League fixture between SOUTHAMPTON v LIVERPOOL with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.
SOUTHAMPTON V LIVERPOOL
8pm We have Friday Night Football to enjoy tonight as Southampton host Liverpool. The title race this season between Liverpool and Manchester City has been excellent viewing and it’s bound to go all the way to the final day. Liverpool simply have to keep winning and hope that City slip up somewhere. City are definitely playing the better football at the moment, but that late goal at Anfield to beat Spurs at the weekend would have given the whole club huge belief that this is their year.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Southampton 8.8, Liverpool 1.46 and the draw is 4.9. Southampton come into this fixture in good form and they are battling very hard to stay in the Premier League. They have a bit of a cushion over Cardiff after their recent results now, but after beating Spurs 2-1 in their last home game – Liverpool can’t afford to take this one lightly.
Aside from drawing 0-0 with Manchester United and Everton away from home recently; Liverpool’s games have been jam packed with goals. The 1.46 on them to win in 90 minutes looks a little on the short side and we feel that over 2.5 goals offers more value at 1.76. Southampton have been scoring recently and that has obviously given them some good result – they struggled in this area at the start of the season but they have improved and we can see plenty of action in this one.
We fully expect Liverpool to win and go back to the top of the Premier League, however we can see Southampton scoring at some stage too – over 2.5 goals looks the best value here at 1.76.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 goals at 1.76.
