8pm So many people said that West Ham did great business in this summer’s transfer market, and yet here we are with them rock bottom after three games. After the weekend, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have lost one more game, however West Ham are still bottom on goal difference – a sign of how badly they have lost their three games. Meanwhile Huddersfield have seven points from their opening three games, and will be hoping to pile more misery onto the Hammers tonight.
West Ham are the hot favourites with home advantage, with the odds at the time of writing; West Ham 2.0, Huddersfield 4.4 and the draw is 3.6. You have to feel that based on what we’ve seen thus far this season, West Ham look terribly short at 2.0. Looking at their record at the London Stadium, we doubt home advantage makes a difference to them – they’ve lost eight of their 19 games here – and although this is their first home game of the season, the way they have been playing suggests they are unlikely to improve that home record this season.
We just can’t get away from the West Ham lay here at 2.0, and with Huddersfield having a good start to their campaign and looking solid at the back, coupled with West Ham’s poor home record – the 2.0 lay looks superb value!
